Tiffany Frederick, Director of Programs and Events at the Hoover Presidential Foundation, has a key role in the large activities held by the Foundation. Event planning and coordination covers the breadth of work needed to put together a grand production like our annual Celebration Banquet, but Tiffany also covers additional duties such as mentoring high school students. Fortunately, for us, she is the perfect person for these tasks, and we have been privileged to have her doing it since she started in June of 2021.
A native of Elgin, Illinois, Tiffany has a background in education. This comes in handy in her work with the Uncommon Student Award program. This scholarship program brings together 15 Iowa high school juniors to work on and present community-minded projects reflective of Herbert Hoover’s humanitarian ideals. Not only does Tiffany make sure every step of this event is meticulously planned, but she also serves as a mentor for these young minds throughout the process.
If you have attended Hoover’s Hometown Days in West Branch, you may have witnessed the Hoover-Ball National Championship tournament. This event attracts teams from across the country to compete for the namesake game of President Herbert Hoover. The coordination of teams, volunteers, and times is yet another area showcasing Tiffany’s talents.
Even if you have missed the student presentations for the Uncommon Student Award program or have yet to catch a Hoover-Ball game, you may have seen her good work elsewhere. During this past Hoover’s Hometown Days, it was Tiffany who created the Hoover Experience Tent on Main Street. If you attended the Celebration Banquet during the past few years, you would have experienced Tiffany’s work there. In fact, Tiffany has said that her proudest moment at the Foundation was bringing in President George W. Bush and Dr. Condoleezza Rice to speak at the banquet.
Outside of the Foundation, Tiffany is married to husband Joey and has a daughter, Taylor, whose name may or may not have something to do with her affinity for Taylor Swift. Tiffany owns an impressive collection of Herbert Hoover t-shirts. She also owns The Honey Den, the candy store on Main Street in West Branch and is a big fan of their Dark Giant Layered Mint. She has been to 15 countries and has a trip planned for Japan in the spring. On top of all that, Tiffany is working on her PhD in Leadership.
