The Hoover Presidential Foundation is accepting applications from current high school juniors in Iowa for the Herbert Hoover Uncommon Student Award. We select 15 finalists to receive $1,500 award, and four of those will receive an additional $10,000 scholarship. Applications are due April 1, 2024. Click the button for more information.

Call for Nominations for Uncommon Public Service Award

The Hoover Presidential Foundation is accepting nominations from the public for its annual Uncommon Public Service Award. The award recognizes Iowa Legislators who demonstrate honesty, integrity, and uncommon and extraordinary public service to the people of Iowa beyond their duties in the legislature. Each year, the award is presented to one member of the Iowa House and Iowa Senate, who exemplify Herbert Hoover’s humanitarian efforts, integrity, honesty, and commitment of uncommon service to the people of Iowa.

Extraordinary $1 Million Donation by Joanne and the Late Ernie Buresh to Help Fund Museum Renovation

The Hoover Presidential Foundation announced a contribution of $1 million from Joanne and the late Ernest Buresh of Cedar Rapids. This extraordinary gift propelled the Timeless Values | Modern Experience campaign to reaching roughly 73 percent of the $20 million goal, aimed at a comprehensive and state-of-the-art makeover of the Herbert Hoover Museum and Library. Ernie and Joanne Buresh’s generous million-dollar contribution marks a significant milestone in the campaign’s fundraising efforts.

Former Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice Spoke at Banquet October 27

Condoleezza Rice participated in an armchair discussion with Margaret Hoover, host of the PBS series, Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, and one of Herbert Hoover’s great granddaughters. Rice’s appearance will help supported the Timeless Values|Modern Experience campaign for the renovation of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.

The Hoover Presidential Foundation is proud to offer grants to aid schools and scholars with transportation costs to come to the Hoover campus. We also provide over $50,000 annually in scholarships to Iowa high school juniors and award excellence in public service in the state legislature.
