Presentation Travel Grant

Eligibility and Deadlines

Eligibility
Applicants must be:
•Graduate students
•Post-doctoral scholars
•Independent scholars

Applicants must have been invited to present to a scholarly audience at a domestic or international conference, symposium, forum, or similar professional gathering. Presentation topics must focus on Herbert Hoover, Lou Henry Hoover, or the broader historical context, ideas, values, and humanitarian work associated with their lives and legacy.

To be eligible for funding, applicants must:
•Have utilized resources from the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum that are directly related to their presentation topic.
•Be willing to present a public program for the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum, either in person or virtually.
•Submit all required application materials by the deadline.

Recipients may receive Presentation Travel Grant funding a maximum of two times within a five-year period.

Awards are available for:
•Domestic Travel: Up to $2,500
•International Travel: Up to $2,500

Grant funds may be used to offset eligible travel expenses associated with presenting scholarly work.

Application Requirements
Applications must include:
1.Letter of request
2.Abstract of the proposed presentation
3.Budget proposal
4.Current curriculum vitae (CV)
5.Event details (conference, symposium, forum, etc.)
6.Any additional information that supports the request

Important Dates
Application Deadline: March 1, 2027
Award Notifications: Applicants will typically be notified of funding decisions by April 30, 2027.

Selection Process
Applications are reviewed by a committee appointed by the Hoover Presidential Foundation. Funding decisions, including award amounts, are made solely at the discretion of the committee and are based on the quality of the proposal, relevance to the mission of the program, and availability of funds.
