When you step onto Pauline’s century farm, you’re not just visiting a piece of history—you’re entering a home filled with warmth, tradition, and the remarkable spirit of a woman who has spent nearly a century embracing life’s opportunities. At 99 years young, Pauline lives by a simple yet profound philosophy: The Joy of Saying Yes.

Over steaming cups of German tea and homemade desserts, Pauline shares the stories of a life richly lived. Born to German immigrants who helped establish the local Lutheran church, her faith has been a steadfast guide through decades of change. But it’s her willingness to say “yes” that has truly shaped her extraordinary journey.

A dedicated educator for 36 years, Pauline taught both math and English, inspiring generations of students with her passion for learning. Yet her classroom extended far beyond school walls. She has visited all fifty states and explored the world through extensive international travel. Her curiosity and love of history have led her to visit many presidential libraries, each one deepening her appreciation for the leaders who have shaped our nation. Among them, Herbert Hoover stands out as a personal favorite. “He saved so many people,” she reflects. “Even feeding the Germans and Russians—it was about saving lives.”

Pauline’s sense of adventure and service did not stop with retirement. She remains active in her community, volunteering and embracing new experiences with the same enthusiasm that has defined her life. “You never know what experience you’ll have,” she says with a smile. “So, if someone asks you to go somewhere, do something, serve on a board, or volunteer—don’t say no. Live your life by The Joy of Saying Yes. That is how you have a fulfilling life.”

Her century farm is more than just land—it is a place where traditions are preserved, where every visitor is welcomed with open arms and delicious homemade treats. It reflects a woman whose legacy is not just in the years she has lived, but in the wisdom, kindness, and adventurous spirit she shares with others.
