Day of Service

It’s as easy as 1, 2, 3

Join us for our annual Day of Service held this year on March 29, 2025, Lou Henry Hoover’s 151st birthday, with work being done throughout March. This year’s project will be supporting the West Branch Food Pantry. This project is done in the spirit of humanitarianism that Herbert and Lou Henry Hoover exemplified throughout their lives.

It’s easy to get involved. Pick one of three ways to give your support.

  1. Shop – Take a menu sheet to your local grocery store, pick one (or more!) menus to purchase, and drop your items at the Rummells Center
  2. Volunteer – Sign up online for a volunteer shift. Shifts are available March 8 and 29.
  3. Donate – Donate online, and we will do the shopping for you!

Remember Those with Food Allergies and Sensitivities

The Reaction Project

Allergy foods can sometimes be very difficult to accommodate. Rarely do individuals have the same allergies as others! It’s great to have a variety of different options (especially those that have the least allergens are therefore useful for more people!).

The list below was created by Gabrielle Biedermann, $10,000 award recipient as 2024 Uncommon Student Award participant for the Reaction Project.

Gluten free flour, Gluten free baking mixes (cake, pancakes, brownies), Egg replacer powder, Shelf stable milk (coconut, rice, soy, almond), Gluten free canned soup, Gluten free pasta, Dairy free chocolate chips, Nut free granola bars (made good brand), Gluten free pretzels, Gluten free crackers, Duncan Hines cake mix (dairy free), Pillsbury frosting (dairy free), Gluten free cookies, Sun butter jars (peanut free), Gluten and Dairy free mac & cheese, Gluten free tortillas
