b'Celebration Banquet a Presidential SuccessThis years Celebration Banquet was like Iowas version of the Oscarsa regular Whos Who including 750 industry leaders, elected officials and Hoover Presidential Foundation supporters. The evening began with U.S. Congresswoman Ashley Hinson who played the National Anthem on her trademark red violin.Following that, emcee Tiffany ODonnell, mayor of Cedar Rapids and CEO of Women Lead Change, welcomed Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds to the stage.Governor Reynolds outlined how the Hoover Humanitarian Award was created to honor those who, like Herbert Hoover, led prolific humanitarian relief efforts while overcoming numerous obstacles. George and Laura Bush would be the first recipients of this award.
