b'Message from the ChairmanDear Friends of the Hoover Presidential Foundation,We ended 2022 with a lot of momentum leading into the New Year. Im pleased to say that as we enter our second full year of the $20 million Timeless Values | Modern Experience campaign for the renovation of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum, were over halfway to reaching our goal.Now over 30 years since the museums last major renovation, and the last of the 13 National Archives and Records Administration presidential libraries to go through such a project, its more important than ever to modernize the exhibit space as we strive to tell the story of Herbert and Lou Henry Hoovers fascinating lives in a way that inspires the audience.The fourth quarter of 2022 brought significant progress to the effort. A very bright spotlight was focused on the campaign in October during the annual Celebration Banquet. Our guest of honor, President George W. Bush received the first Hoover Humanitarian Award for his and First Lady Laura Bushs work in Africa fighting AIDS and malaria, and Lauras efforts in Texas with womens health. Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds presented the award. Before announcing the Humanitarian award, the governor made an exciting announcement before the crowd of 750. Earlier in the day, the Hoover Presidential Foundation had been selected to receive a $5 million Destination Iowa grant from the states economic development agency for the Timeless Values campaign. It was the first of two large gifts announced that evening.
