b'Message from the President & CEO2022 was an exciting year for several reasons, each as good as the other in their own special way.Ill start with the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. After a 16-month hiatus in 2020 and 21, we saw the Hoover Presidential Library and the National Historic Site fully open throughout 2022. For me, it was a sign that, while still cautious, were putting COVID behind us. Its great to see people out enjoying the Hoover campus, exhibits and programs in person again!Another highlight of the year must include President George W. Bushs presence at our annual Celebration Banquet. It was the first time in 30 years since the Hoover Presidential Foundation has hosted a U.S. President for an event. The last time was in 1992 when President Ronald Reagan came to West Branch for the Hoover Presidential Museum Renovation celebration.President Bush was honored at the banquet with our first Hoover Humanitarian Award, for his work in Africa fighting Aids and malaria. His wife Laura was included in the award, although she was unable to attend the banquet. Laura created the Laura W. Bush Institute for Womens Health in Texas where more than 60,000 women and girls have been served through inspiring programs, resources, vaccines, and cancer screenings. The Celebration Banquet is our largest fundraising event of the year. In addition to having President Bush attend, we received announcements of $6 million in grants and gifts to the Timeless Values | Modern Experience campaign!'
