The new law is modeled after the popular Endow Iowa tax credit and offers a 25% tax credit to Iowa taxpayers who contribute to the Timeless Values | Modern Experience campaign for the renovation of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum.Gov. Reynolds addressed the crowd before signing the bill. Its my privilege then, nearly 60 years after the librarys dedication to be able to sign legislation that will help ensure that this building will continue to play these vital roles for generations to come, she said. By making eligible through the tax credit, 25% of any sum contributed to the renovation project run by the Hoover Presidential Foundation, the bill will encourage Iowans to get this important project off the ground with their donations.The state has set aside $5,000,000 in tax credits and are available to Iowa taxpayers on a first-come, first-served basis, until the funds are all claimed or until December 31, 2023, whichever comes first.Qualifying gifts may range from as much as $10 to $1 million dollars, or $2 million for married couples. Gifts of appreciated stock, grain, or real estate also qualify for the Hoover Tax Credit.'
