DESCRIPTION:The normal worries of a struggling small-town farmer are blown away when the world is suddenly overrun by undead monsters. How can a good man protect and provide for his family in a hostile world without becoming a monster himself? \nJoin the Hoover Presidential Library and Museum for our special movie series\, “Hoover Fright Nights\,” during the month of October! These FREE movie nights will take place in our auditorium at 6pm. Doors open at 5:30pm and registration is not required. \nPopcorn and water will be available for purchase on-site. Outside food is not permitted. Only water bottles with twist caps will be permitted. \nPlease note that these films are not intended for children due to the language and/or content of the movies. Children under the age of 17 must be accompanied by a parent or designated adult.

DESCRIPTION:The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum will host a naturalization ceremony to celebrate Constitution Day. In recognition of Constitution Day (September 17)\, candidates will become new citizens of the United States. \nThe ceremony will be held on the east lawn of the Library and Museum\, within the Herbert Hoover National Historic Site. SUMMARY:Dr. Will Anderson Presentation
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Will Anderson of Central Michigan University\, our 2008 Artist in Residence\, is returning to West Branch this coming Saturday\, July 6th\, for a special presentation of his radio play\, “The Son of West Branch\, America’s Great Humanitarian\,” followed by a performance of original songs inspired by the drama. The work highlights importance milestones in Herbert Hoover’s life.\n\n\n\nSince his artist in residency\, Dr. Anderson has revisited the drama and added nine original songs to the original piece. The songs were inspired by key events in Hoover’s life. The program will be from 1-3 p.m. in the Visitor Center theater and will include both a performance of the piece as well as a discussion with Dr. Anderson. following. The event should last about two hours.\n\n\n\nDr. Anderson is a nationally recognized audio dramatist and winner of the 2022 Central Michigan University President’s Award for Outstanding Research and Creative Activity for his work developing new uses and distribution avenues for audio drama. As a teacher\, Anderson has made it his life’s goal to create good writers and rationale-driven strategic communicators.

DESCRIPTION:The Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum is excited to commemorate the 150th birthdays of both Herbert and Lou Henry Hoover with a special new temporary exhibit: “Hoover 150: A Birthday Celebration.” This exhibit will serve as the final temporary exhibit at the Museum prior to the Museum’s complete remodel and renovation. \nStarting May 18\, visitors will discover the lives of the Hoovers in a completely new way\, highlighting their birthdays over the years and the celebrations in their honor. While both Herbert and Lou Henry Hoover lived private personal lives\, items on display will offer a unique perspective on some of their most intimate moments with friends and family. From childhood to adulthood\, experience these great memories through many items in the Hoover Museum collection never seen before. \nGiven the sesquicentennial birthdays of both Bert and Lou\, staff and leaders with the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum are excited to showcase an exhibit created\, designed\, and presented entirely in-house. \n“We hope visitors join in the celebration of these special anniversaries and realize the importance the Hoovers’ placed in acknowledging others\, savoring fleeting moments\, and delighting in life’s wonders\,” said Melanie Wier\, assistant curator at the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. \n“This is an opportunity to discover the Hoovers in a remarkable way\,” said Thomas Schwartz\, director of the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library and Museum. “This exhibit properly provides a special sendoff to our galleries\, sharing the Hoover story in a festive way.
